Previously, Zoë was Head of Fixed Income at Federated-Hermes Investment Management     (partially owned by British Telecom's Pension Scheme) where she was responsible for the Credit team managing high yield, absolute return and multi- strategy funds and an investment grade segregated mandate. She also managed the Government and Inflation-linked desk and established a new UK and European direct lending business as a joint venture with Royal Bank of Scotland.  Zoë was also a Member of the Real Estate Credit Committee and had responsibility for the Group Treasury function.

In 2004 she was founder and CEO of New Bond Street Asset Management LLP ("NBSAM"), an absolute return credit fund manager which specialized in the investment grade and crossover space. NBSAM had €8bn of assets under discretionary and advisory management, 30 staff and its products included open and closed-end funds, a Dublin based long-short hedge fund, managed accounts and credit trading books.

In 1995 she established Bankgesellschaft's Debt Finance Division which she successfully managed until 2003 when she left to set-up NBSAM. Debt Finance included the group's €30bn credit portfolio, asset trading, securitisation, two off balance sheet arbitrage funding vehicles and the group's CDO business, including the "Rhea" €2.2bn public issue. The Division had a cross border structure with 75 staff in London, Dublin and Berlin.

During her tenure at Bankgesellschaft she assumed the role of Branch Manager in London in 2002 managing 250 staff and was also responsible for the Credit and Legal functions.

From 1989 to 1995 she established and developed WestLB's securitisation and syndicated lending business in London where she arranged, amongst other transactions, the first personal loan and timeshare securitisation in the UK (First National Bank).

After completing an American bank training programme, she worked for the investment banking arms of Bank of America and CIBC between 1982 and 1989 as an originator and product specialist in the debt capital markets.

Her publications include editor of "International Securitisation" (Macmillan, 1991); co-author of "Securitisation: For Issuers and Investors" (Euromoney 1996 and updated 2003); and various articles in financial journals. Zoë has an MA from Cambridge University, graduating in 1982.

Zoë Shaw has a track record in establishing and managing credit businesses and has held senior roles in investment banking and fund management.

She is currently a Non-Executive Director of the Newbury Building Society with responsibility for Asset-Liability Strategy, Risk and Health & Safety, and a member of the Investment Committee advising Fitzwilliam College, Cambridge.
